In this video, we review some of the measurements found on the John Deere iMatch Quick Hitch System:

A couple of the key measurements are:

15" form the top link center pin hook to the center of the side arm hook 

(when it is set up for John Deere Category 1 implements)

The top link hook is adjustable on our unit so it can be adjusted up or down to accommodate other implements but it would seem to defeat the purpose if you had to move or change it for each separate implement.

27 1/8" - inside distance between the side arm hooks

29 1/2" - outside distance between the side arm hooks

Pole Shed

Thoughts behind the Design and Layout

In this video, we spend some time reviewing the thoughts behind our layout and design of the recent pole shed we had constructed by the Amish.  We hope this will be beneficial to others as they look to build their own pole shed or outbuilding.  So far, the function of the building has worked the way we wanted it to but I am sure we will have additional ideas that will benefit the overall usefulness of this structure.  Enjoy!

 

Disaster Team

 With the recent storms that have moved through our area, we have experienced the need for some cleanup.  A recent limb (VERY LARGE) broke off of one of our mature oak trees and fell to the ground.  It also took out a few smaller saplings and stripped the branches off of a pine tree as it fell to the ground.  The diameter on the main part of the debris was 18"+.  This will make for plenty of good firewood that we can cut up and split later.

The Pole Shed

Our Big House in the Little Woods

Join us as we treasure life around our Big House in the Little Woods.

4 years ago we moved our family from the suburbs to a more rural setting with the hope of capturing the benefits of room to breathe and hard work.  We had been looking for a lot to build a home and instead ran across a larger home that was already sitting on a piece of heavily wooded acreage and although it needed some work we immediately fell in love with the idea and potential of what it could be.  Slowly but surely we have continued to tackle projects and invite you to share in our experiences!
